Kitchen Tricks To Check If Your Food Has Been Contaminated
Food adulteration is happening in almost everything we eat, even with the most renowned brands. Sugar is mixed in honey, chalk powder has been found in salt, green vegetables are coloured with malachite green. But there are simple ways to find out in your kitchen:
1. Dip a diya wick in your honey and light it up. If the honey is pure, will catch fire.
2. Put paraffin wax on a cotton and rub your capsicum, chillies and other green vegetables with it. If artificial colour is added then cotton turns green.
3. Dip turmeric and besan in warm water and add few drops of lemon. If adulterated, it will turn pink/purple in color.
4. Mix a little of your sugar and salt in a glass of water. Pure sugar and salt dissolve completely in water other contaminants sink to the bottom
